‘My Heart & Her Pieces’ is an exhibit of emotions that people experience in their lives: grief, depression, sadness, anger, and self love. In this collection of poetry; Latham displays emotion is normal and it does exist in everyone. She analyzes her own heart and the remnants to pull this collection together. She expresses her trauma and own life to beam light onto emotions others try and hide. She is no stranger to these emotions and does not shy away from speaking upon them.
